Do you believe in universal fate?
The type when someone crosses your path at exactly the right place at the right time?
The Garden Connects
Ever since purchasing The Garden, I am continually amazed at the people who are connecting with each other and crossing paths.
Sometimes, these connections seem to come from the most perfect people at the most perfect time.
We saw a kindy teacher connect with a speech therapist.
A pilates instructor and software company owner connect over a children’s book.
A stranger from the street came to our business at Metamorphosis Digital and now allows us to connect with our community via podcasts and video.
Economic development at Frankston Council connected with us.
A business with the same core values connected and will be moving into The Garden in June for a trial as we both work to support our community dreams for independent business owners, yet collaborative community members.
And as I walked away from all of these experiences, what was the single greatest lesson I took away?
Our job is not to change you, our job is to encourage you to be more you.
A gift, a specialty….something they alone specialise in.
When we accept and appreciate the people we come in contact with for their unique knowledge and experience, then the most unlikely connections form at the right place at the right time.
A moment in time which can alter and change another person’s life for the better when both parties connect and find exactly what they are looking for.
Know your strengths and weakness’s
In business it can be tempting to want to change the people you are working with.
To push them in a different direction and want them to do things they don’t specialise in.
Sometimes this can be flipped around the other way, tempting you to want to take on projects you are not good at simply to get more money in the bank, or take the client you have worked so hard to build a relationship with, even though you know you can’t give them what they need at this exact point in time, but I don’t believe this is the answer.
You can shine in the way that suits you best
My mantra this week as I connect with contractors and business owners who are coming into our space at The Garden is this:
It’s not our job to change you, it’s our job to allow you to change us.Nina Montgomery
People want to work with you because you have unique strengths and talents that you and only you can bring to the table.
When you are open and honest about your strengths and weakness’s, and you communicate them openly, then others around you can help you shine in the way that best showcases those unique skills and talents to the world.
Connections create change
If you need a connection for your business, or your business has a connection to offer, then pop down and see us at The Garden.
I’d love to hear about what you can offer the community, and if you are open about what strengths, weakness’s and unique point of difference you can bring to your customers lives, I will listen and support you to help you reach your business goals.
So go on.
Create your own magic.
Yes, you can.
